The Books and Ball Program provides area high school athletes the opportunity to attend tutorial sessions two days a week at no charge. The program is available to all athletes attending high schools, both public and private. The standard ratio is five students to one tutor. Along with basic subjects, tutors will focus a significant amount of their time on advanced subjects such as geometry, trigonometry, calculus, science, and other subjects that the parents of home schoolers may be unable to address effectively, and athletes attending high school would generally need more assistance in mastering.Students who attend are also giving guidance through the process of obtaining athletic scholarship and monitored to ensure that students remain eligible according to NCAA guidelines.
