Team Genesis - Excellence in education, character and athletics
  Team Genesis Houston
About the Founder

Miss Elaine Jones

Team Genesis HOUSTON AAU basketball is made possible through the generous support of former Houston Jaguars players Brandon Gay and Ivan McFarlin.
Over the past eighteen years, Ms. Elaine Jones has helped over one hundred students receive basketball scholarships to colleges across the US and has served as the catalyst that has jump started three NBA careers. To date, “Ms. E” is the first woman to win a major Nike basketball tournament (The Nike Peach Jam). Even more importantly, Ms. Jones vision years ago, with the Houston Jaguars, was to equip young basketball players with a sense of spirituality and academic discipline, in addition to providing them with the resources to improve their athletic ability.

In 2004, Ms. Elaine started Houston Team Genesis, to which she has devoted much time and effort to the progress of each of these talented athletes. Even with the 2009 group being her final team, basketball respects Ms. Elaine Jones for the spiritual values, principles and commitment to excellence that have set her apart from all mentors in the realm of youth basketball.

The forming of Team Genesis International in 2009 by former Houston Jaguars player, Harry Williams, is a testament of Ms. Elaine’s vision of using youth basketball to prepare leaders for the future.

The Elaine Jones Gym in Lynchburg, Virginia, is projected to open in August of 2011.
